Aluminum tread plates, also commonly known as aluminum checker plates or aluminum chequered plates, are decorative non-slip metal sheets that display remarkable performance. Manufacturing Process of Aluminum Tread Plates

A closer look at aluminum tread plates reveals their unique design, featuring convex patterns that enhance grip. These patterns are created by rolling plain aluminum sheets through a roller press. This manufacturing process not only imparts a trendy appearance to the aluminum embossed sheets but also ensures their practicality in providing traction for safer movement in various environments.

Aluminum Tread Plate Alloys

The 1 series aluminum tread plate is primarily composed of 1050 and 1060 plain aluminum sheets for surface imprinting on the base plate. These properties include good processability, ductility, and low strength. Additionally, their very affordable price makes them highly suitable for common cold storage floors and large-area installations.

The 3 series aluminum checker plates are typical rust-resistant alloys with higher strength compared to the 1 series tread plates. They exhibit excellent formability, weldability, and similar properties to the 4017 aluminum tread plate. These plates are commonly used in applications such as garage/canteen/gym wainscoting, truck beds, stairs, etc.

The commonly used 5 series al-mg aluminum tread plates include varieties like 5052 aluminum plate, 5083, 5086, and 5754 which possess outstanding corrosion resistance along with high strength and hardness characteristics. They find application in environments requiring high performance such as wet conditions (e.g., ships), lightweight carriages or structures that require load-bearing capacity (e.g., aerial work ladders). Moreover, they also serve well for decorative purposes like wainscot decoration.

Furthermore,the addition of main alloy Si enhances the practicality of the sixth-series mg-si alloy plates like the popularly used6061aluminum checker plate.

Characteristics of Aluminum Tread Plate/Coil

The physical characteristics of aluminum checker plates of the same alloy brand are determined by the different surface patterns.

For example, our most common 4*8 embossed aluminum diamond plate has a staggered pattern on the surface like sparkling diamonds, which greatly increases the friction of the contact surface.
